Oil Change Process

• warm up engine
• if necessary, raise front end with ramps or jack stands
• remove oil drain plug from pan and drain oil
• reinstall drain plug
• remove oil filter -- make sure the gasket is not stuck to the block
• wipe off sealilng surface
• prime and install new filter, tighten 3/4 to 1 turn after contact
• add all but one quart of required quantity of oil
• start engine and verify oil pressure (gauge or idiot light)
• check fill level with dipstick and add as needed
• check for leaks
